Since you're being an asset to the team by monetarily helping the allies generate sp, you should be rewarded with a fraction of that. This would also encourage teamplay with positive reinforcement. About abusing, trading money back and forth should be somehow prevented to disallow farming sp via this method.

Yes nice idea... for the prevention of farming... the SP could be shared (non evenly) based on who's money is in the player's coffers when the sp is earnt? rather than generating sp solely by gifting?

the game could note how much money is from the ally, say 1500/3000, spread the sp (say 25% of the portion, so in this case 12.5%), then the leftover money in the coffers is noted by the same ratio (lets say 100/200) and then next turn (100/2800) the same sp formula happens again?

Support. Just don't allow this on games like 25k or 50k because of farming.

We dont need any limitation about this.
If you send money, you earn sp, if that person sends you back the money, you lose it.

Yes i can already see the scenario.

For instance: eu+ game 10k

You pick turkey
ATM machine player picks cyprus

[pr] ATM machine: You: hey man i give you all my money if you ally me

do i need to tell the rest of the story

guy sitting in europe with 50k gives money to a player in america

There could be games where you have peace in turn 2, send money, then ally win.
Also, why losing SP? There could be "trolls" joining a game, allying with someone and sending them money.

I disagree with this, I don't think a player should receive SP just because he is mr money in the bank, for example:

player A conquers USA and starts sending all his money to B, and just sitting in his continent doing nothing, even though he did a lot to help player B, he doesnt really get any piece of the eurasia action.

Also this could be used to numerous exploits, when the ATM loses most of his army on purpose and increases a lot his income without the units weekly cost. A player like this can never be a good team player because he just sits when his ally(ies) do his work

of course im talking about the extreme case, but even in the normal case where player sends X% of his cash to ally, they are doing that so that they can achieve a better success rate in their game and that, imo, is the only reward you need

I remember Sultan Mehmet already had this idea before, but i can't find it

Anyway: Seems a nice idea to me, it will encourage teamplay. But i think it needs to be logged or something, to prevent abusing this for farming.

Think it would be a good idea, there is usually a guy who ends up being the support role, usually western europe or east asia or USA sending money to their allies and they get nothing in the end but a bunch of wasted time. If someone is allyfagging chances are they are noobs, you'd end up getting more sp alone anyway so what's the problem with helping noobs out?

Maybe a system could be implemented to where if you give say, 10k to your ally, the game logs the next 10k cash spent by said ally. The game will then give the funder a certain percentage of the SP that those units earn, but due to the massive amounts of combinations, this could be difficult (send 1 funded unit into battle along with 99 non-funded units and it will be hard to track how much SP that unit earned)

I support because it can be contained by being a medal, and only rewarded once a game this restricts sp being farmed because it is only once a game and has to be over xxxx amount of money (low enough amount that it can be rewarded in 3k games)

Sending money which isn't repaid should give sp. For that to be fair, we would need accept/reject money option, things like repaying loans options etc. Far too complex for most 25 turn games.

But then I thought about the swiss bank in the UN games. It would just get free sp.

What about altering the idea a bit?

You earn SP on money you send to your allies only after you have spend at least the starting capital (or 200% or 300%) on your own units (and upkeep).
So if a Cyprus player in a 50k game wants to play the ATM machine, he/she has to spend 50k on his/her own units first. This would make sure that ATM-SP-farming will not happen easily. A normal player easily spends 300% of starting capital in a normal game, so it should not affect those who play honourfully and then support their allies.
