Hey guys,
what do you think about ingame research? befor you start the current round (or wheresoever), you can choose between some technologies. this technologies need different times to unlock (the size of your empire is impartial).
here some examples:
Pros:
+ separate from lvls/upgrades
+ more dynamic games
+ fun?!?
Contra:
- unusual
- confusing?!?

Definitely not for quick this would take way too long, maybe for casual.

I agree with above poster that probably be good idea in casual, or maybe you can lengthen the turn time for quick games( it goes to 6 minutes right?).

Omg so confusing, as if AW wasn't complicated enough already...
but for scenarios it could be fun

This should be add to custom maps, the map maker should decide the bonus and the name and picture of the in-game research.
For those saying that atwar is complited, then you clearly haven't played any of paradox's games.

once the player knows what each upgrade does in a specific scenarios (after his first time playing it) this won't take more than 10 seconds to use.
its like when somebody buys upgrades for a alt, it takes less than 10 seconds to buy the upgrade of your choice.
