Cw system edit

So, in this current elo clan warring system, it encourages those on the top to slow/stop cwing at all, since its not worth risking losing 20 elo for a gain of 3 elo, expecially when you are already winning the season. That encourages inactivity, and at the moment clans with 9 cws are beating clans with 70.

To try to solve the two issues, a elo decay per day without cws could be a solution. This would take away say 5 elo from everyone who has not cwed during the day before the system checks. So if its 1200 PST and the system checks for cws, and you have a cw on 1159, that would not count and you would lose 5 elo. This elo loss would continue every day as needed until they hit thier starting amount of elo (1000)

Here are the cw records for 2 of the top 3 clans, and the current leaderboard


This would solve the issues by forcing the top clans to cw, or else lose thier hard-earned elo, and lowers the elo of the 9 cw clans, since every day they are losing 5 elo, eventually getting them off the leaderboard.

Support, time to bring down no.1 clan by not cwing with them

Complaining because you think playing more CW's makes you a better clan? You should be criticizing Victorious secret, Syndicate, Tachibana etc, as opposed to directing it all to the top.

But just to blow your "amazing idea" completely out of the water, consider the fact we had to get over 1100 elo in the first place, it's not our fault you're incapable of doing that. Elo is like money and money is like a needy girlfriend, if you don't look after it, it will leave you.

Another point is clans often go through phases of unexpected or unavoidable inactivity.. because most players actually have real lives and can't spend all of their god damn time playing AW. losing 5 points a day? Are you for real? This game doesn't operate on a daily or even weakly basis, look at Illyria, they haven't been actively CW'ing for a month.

Change the way you think about CW's and change your attitude. If you want to be in the top 10, take a leaf out of French connections book, even they understand it's Quality over Quantity.

There IS a problem with the system when the top clan declines games because of seasonal ELO risk and other clans can't gain enough to pressure them. SA has declined all offers for a week so they can hold onto their precious 1100+ seasonal ELO, not because of activity or inactivity. They've had their CW-able members online every day and won't play. We don't seem to have enough clans for pure activity and thus making the system work.

Not sure if this is the way to go about it, though It might help spur some games. I think the real problem is the lack of ability to climb ranks because a lack of games. What there should be is a minimum sample size to determine if you're allowed to be ranked or not. A number to aim for to pressure games. People aren't cw'ing because there's no need, if you put a number to aim for people will get it before the season ends.

A minimum of 40 CW's played to qualify for a season is easily accomplished and easy to aim for. There could even be clan trophies to those who qualify to give a reward of some sort. Maybe not trophies, maybe a new tab saying which seasons they've qualified for, and just let the trophies be for 1st/2nd/3rd.

If implemented it will create a few more games, but we'll still run into the problem of a top clan refusing to play. This problem is just less dramatic when there are other alternatives to increase your ELO. (More games)

what about removing the op gaps of elo won and lost? lets say you can win max 12 and lose max 8 , if implemented all will be solved , like for real...

I dont support the op, because godofcri still has me banned and you let him make all the cws of enigma, therefore i have NEVER seen enigma play. So i dont have an acurate depiction of enigma's skill as a clan. I only know godofwar and i know he is a noob, so i am forced to make the conjecture that you are a weak clan. Maybe if you kick that guy i can finally watch you guys cw and my opinion change

I think the way you put it makes absolute sense, Would agree with a minimum of at least 20 cw's to qualify for a seasonal position.

But I do think this post was made as an attack on SA.. continued by Commando Eagle making out how we always have people online to CW.. only 5/6 of us are active cw players, the other 20 are either inactive, specialize in other things or are in the middle of training.

On the subject of us CW'ing SM, we won't turn down a game if our CW squad is on and you actually have some elo worth playing for (anything above 1040 atm). Same goes for any clan.

Doesn't work. This is exactly how it worked before, except it was max +100 and min +50. Max 0.10 min 0.5

Can you imagine someone with 2000 Chess ELO being only allowed to gain +10 when he's won against someone with 2400? Or what about someone with 2700 winning against a 2300 rated(or less) player and automatically getting +5 each and every game? Literally playing anyone and they get +5 every single game. Yet when the lowest manage a miracle win, they only get +10.

In CW competence under atWar's arrangement, the first people to rack up wins are pretty hard to move off. And those who play against the best will always lose 0.5 CW competence, and thus go into negatives when they wouldn't have normally.

Basically clans are pushed to the extremes, either they rise consistently or they fall hard the more they play

The risk you take vs a low competence clan is supposed to be there. It's supposed to keep the system in check. Else you could farm low ELO clans all day and not need to face other top clans. If there was another clan or two at around the same ELO level as SA, maybe one of them will take the risk and CW low ELO clans to gain the edge against the other top clans at the risk of losing more than they win. It also should be there so a clan can rise to the top by playing against top clans, which is a risk in and of itself. A low ELO clan taking on a higher ELO clan should have more reward.

The only problem is Illyria and MK have slowed and started not caring about AW anymore, and thus aren't fighting for first again. The unbalance created will be resolved if Illyria, MK, or Victorious Secret gain to 1120~ ELO and threaten SA's position. Then there'll be some motive to face a low ELO clan to get those extra points against the other clans, hoping to edge into #1 above them. But this balance doesn't exist at the moment, sadly.

The system ultimately works, but only if people are actually playing. Liquidity is the aim, not stasis.

I don't understand why everyone is bitching on this thread, it was simply an idea. He was looking to see what others thought of it, or any improvements; so just chill, he wasn't attacking any clan.
