You see, by definition Islam is a religion of moderation and balance. Our prophet has always encouraged balance in our lives, and we are brought up to view Islam as a religion of the moderate. By being extreme and radical you're by definition going against Islam. Thinking you're a Muslim and being one are two different things. I could go drink, have sex, smoke weed, party all night, not pray, don't do any of what Allah commanded me to, etc etc, would I still be a Muslim even if I think of myself of a Muslim? Not really. The five cornerstones of Islam are: 1.Testifying that there is no God but Allah, and that Mohamed is Allah's messenger, 2. Praying at it's time, 3. Giving 'zakah' which means money and food to the poor at specific times with specific rates, 4. Fasting in Ramadan, 5. Going to a pilgrimage to the holy Kaa'ba in Mecca (if capable financially and physically) If I don't do one these then I'm not a Muslim. Similarly there are several things that if you do you are automatically not a Muslim. I'm not sure if unjustifiable killing is one of them, but it will send you to hell that's for sure. I highly doubt ISIS give zakaah or go to Mecca but even if they do, the entity itself which considers itself Islamic State is not and will never be Muslim because of not only not reflecting Islam's values, but giving Islam a bad image and reflecting what Islam stands against.

Still a Muslim. It goes as a Agnostic Christian whom believes in God and proclaims Jesus as his son and messiah yet does not adhere to the teachings of the church. You cannot deliberately negate the religious status of those who affiliates themselves with terrorists because they partake different interpretations of your faith. A Protestant is still a christian despite it's observable difference with a Catholic whom is too, a Christian. You cannot bloody well try to disregard the only evidence and source of your faith which is the Koran. They too read the Koran, just because they do not think and act like you do doesn't mean they are not Muslims. And yes, you would still be a Muslim if you drink, have sex, smoke weed, party all night, not pray, don't do any of what Allah commanded me to, etc. . I had a female Muslim colleague who never wears hijab at school. I asked if she is a Muslim, she confidently said yes although she exclaims she's just a bad Muslim (frankly, I saw her twice in a club). She even had all of us to promise not to tell anyone outside the classroom, why? She might loose her head. You are in complete denial.

What about americans and europeans affiliated with ISIS. They are not muslims, they are probably atheists. Yet they work with ISIS, buy their oil, sell them guns, give them informations about Syrian and Kurdish positions, share satellite photos, help in logistics and supply.

Try to understand what I'm saying, those five commandments I listed are the cornerstones of Islam, without them you really aren't Muslim. Without those 5 it's like saying someone is a Christian who doesn't believe in God and Jesus. Having said that, I believe the problem is that our definitions of Muslim is not parallel. When I say Muslim, I mean Muslim to Allah. Not acting Muslim, but truly a Muslim. When you (assuming this) or someone else says Muslim, you mean identifies self as Muslim, and other people recognize him/her as Muslim. When I say ISIS as an entity isn't Muslim I mean the idea of ISIS is not adhering to the ideas of Islam, and they aren't Muslims to Allah. Maybe the tricked individuals are Muslim yes, but the idea of this group of terrorists striking fear in people's heart in the name of Allah isn't Muslim. Also, so what if they read the Qur'an? If someone reads the Qur'an and doesn't adhere to these five commandments then they are by definition people who aren't Muslims reading the Qur'an. Also maybe the example I gave was better suited to show bad Islam yes, but my point was if they do all that and not even follow those 5 commandments then they are not Muslim. The reason I'm disgusted by the idea of 'radical Islam' is because Islam is a religion of moderation and balance, and people just don't understand that. I'm disgusted by the stereotypes and generalization from a very big amount of the world. Hence why I point out the fact that it is logically impossible to be a radical Muslim. Something is wrong when that happens. Hey, I'll give you this: Maybe everyone in ISIS is indeed a Muslim (probably bad, but some just mislead), but as I've stated twice before; ISIS as an entity does not reflect Islam in any way.
So if I call myself a Christian and not even believe in Jesus for example, am I a Christian? -who cares about what other people say (also it's "said no one ever")

Didn't notice that until now. My fingers are drunk. Pardon me. ISIS may not reflect your way of Islamic faith but it remains true no matter how hard you try to bend. You'll deny because you are affected. It goes the same with Christians who denies Hitler's christian faith. Your Five Pillars is analogous to the Ten Commandments. Adhering to the five Pillars is not the essential requirement to be considered a Muslim: -Muslim of Islamic faith believes in Allah and Mohammed is his messenger -Christian of Christian faith believes in Yahweh and Jesus as his son and messiah. -Jew of the Jewish faith believes in Jehovah and his covenant with the chosen people, alone. Five Pillars, Ten Commandments, Eight Beatitudes or not. Does not matter which parts of the book you conform and neglect. It's about the faith. This IS a Muslim no matter how radical is his intentions. If you believe in Allah and Mohammed is his messenger, you are a Muslim. PERIOD

Unfortunately yes this person would be a Muslim if he adheres to what he is supposed to. If he is really a Muslim to Allah that is only known by Allah, but again the idea of a radical Muslim is illogical. Maybe it's present in illogical people, and maybe it's present in ISIS members. But again the entity which ISIS is does not reflect Islam's values and beliefs and is not recognized as Muslim by any other (logical)Muslim or Islamic organization. Back to my original point: I'm disgusted when someone puts me or anyone of my brothers and sisters in the same basket with ISIS or any other terrorist so called Islamic organization. This comes from a very black and white shallow view from a part of the western world (mainly USA) and I wish one day people are correctly educated about different faiths and beliefs, cultures, ethnicities etc etc so there is no being born into discrimination.

The notion of radical muslim is logical as so with radical christians, even radical buddhists. Extremism exists on such variables. ISIS does reflect islamic faith, albeit not it's values since they derived their carnage from the very same book you've read. It goes as with the Inquisition and witch hunts reflects Christian faith. You're in denial because you're affected. It is your faith that is put into question but goddamn it, you normative Muslims should do something. UAE and the rest of the Arab nations who refuses to open their borders to your own brothers and sisters of faith is what the World frowns upon. Europe does not share their faith and culture to your people and now they've paid the price. And now, your people have to pay the price. Your brothers and sisters of faith continue to threaten the era of peace. Don't make those white people mad. They've enslaved the whole world before, they can do it again. Good thing is, they've changed. Don't let your people wake the Imperial beasts inside. Germany alone, if she is proud to hoist her colors again. All the world will cower with fear. You might accidentally wake a bat-shit lunatic (eg. Hitler) and nuke the entire crescent fertile to end these three ridiculous Abrahamic religion, all trying to kill one another for centuries. Here's what that pleb tito would do:

Understanding the notion of radical Muslim is logical because yes extremism exits in everything, but being a radical Muslim is illogical (from an illogical person) because again Islam is a religion of moderation and balance. I agree we really need to do something about it. The GCC's stance specifically is very absurd and plain bad. That is the only way to actually justify closing the borders in EU is by holding the Arab world accountable. It sucks because the people who can help the most (rich GCC) help the least. and no, we're not afraid of the west, at least I'm not.

Yep, because some people believe they are more important, so they ignore others. Same happened when America targeted Serbian TV station in war when they invaded Serbia 1999. I think 5 to 15 reporters died and no one said anything on the West, criticizing killing reporters, they just ignored. But 15 years later and you have whole west 'standing with charles hebdo' :/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NATO_bombing_of_the_Radio_Television_of_Serbia_headquarters#Comparisons_to_Charlie_Hebdo_shooting
