I am aware players are now able to delete their former names from public view. Moderators are aware of their former names - I am aware of this too. But if we banned players with their former name - how will this work? Please answer. Thanks.

Btw (side tracking here) this is one of the worst things I think have been done to this game. Yeah let's just forget about map making/editor. Instead let's add a feature that lets trolls delete their former names, so you can't get any negative percussions (in terms of community reaction - I know that map bans will still likely be fine, just more complicated). GREAT IDEA. >.> Which downie suggested this to admins. Or maybe it's that the admins had so much free time from neglecting to produce a feasible html editing version, that they got bored and then decided they should just add something that hinders the game meanwhile adding nothing. Nothing at all. Because ... you know... let's just get rid of that deterence of accumulating negative/bad reputation. Yeah why not. Let's get some more trolls and high rank noobs in here. Wonderful. Not to even mention people who join clans purposefully to troll or kick members, yeah let them delete their reputation too.

Good job. 11/10.

It registers their player ID when you ban someone from a game. So even if they change their name, it doesn't matter. So just like ignore list, even if someone changes their name, they will still be ignored.

Ok That's what i thought cos i've banned people who then changed their names. Screenshots still valid then?

Definitely. Because mods can still see former names, screenshots will work fine for banlist appeal.

Well, that's reassuring in order to ban rule-breakers. Thanks!

So basically, "deleting" former names hides it from the general community, but not from the mods?

The mods see all, know all...

It is a bit strange... however, if you friend/enemy a player, they will never be able to avoid you by changing their names.

Yes they will... The number of times I've had to look at previous names to remember why I put a player on enemy/ignore list is too damn high.

They'll keep being in that list, however I'll completely forget about the reason I ever had him there

Alright, true enough... if you need to remember the exact offense, then associating a name with the reason for enemy listing is no longer an option. It would still be possible to track though, since the user_id number does not change. It would mean recording the offence along with the id_number so you could reference later.

So we would need an external tool, say a document, with the entire list of players with their respective names and ID numbers................

Then, this update is officially turning account id into a mainstream thing. if we're enabling a delete nickname ability, then our profiles should contain explicitely our Account ID, and not just on the url

i'm not sure if keeping details on reasons for enemy/friend listing is mainstream... AW never supported this before... this is just a response to those who would like a way to remind themselves if they have a good enough memory to remember the name of an enemy/friend prior to changing.

I don't think You get what I meant or I got what you meant, what I meant is that with the option to delete former names, account id's will be more relevant now, so why not making them a thing on the profile?
