Latvian War of Independence (1919-1920)

Scenario name: Latvian War of Independence

After my first scenario made 2 days ago about hypothetical NATO vs. Russia confrontation in the Baltic http://atwar-game.com/forum/topic.php?topic_id=18452, I decided to use my inspiration to make one more map and scenario, this time solely about Latvia. Scenario is set in the 1919, when young Latvian nation still had to fight its greatest battles to secure its independence, when from one side was coming Barmontians which were German and Russian volunteers, formally fighting to topple communist regime in Russia, but practically trying to establish Germany loyal regime in the Baltic. From other side there was Moscow loyal Latvian Socialist Soviet Republic,

These 3 sides fighting each other is central part of this scenario, although in reality Latvia came out as victorious, first defeating Bermontians and then LSSR, but in this scenario each side have equal chance to win.

As this scenario is 1vs1vs1 it leaves room for interesting gameplay, where each player, have to watch out from both opposing sides, but well who would stop anyone for trying to make cease fire with one of the opponents and first deal together with 3rd one? But anyway, remember at the end there will be only one man standing.

Also map I tried to make to offer diverse possibilities of tactical gameplay, most of the rivers is only cross able through cities and some bridges, therefore it gives ways for interesting defensive and offensive strategies.

There is also available tanks, armored cars, heavy artillery, air planes and battleships. But they are limited to be produced only in special places: factories, airfields and for ships in some certain biggest ports. Therefore also in this aspect it makes gamplay even more interesting as control of theses strategical locations is essential to gain advantages over enemy in the battlefield.

Republic of Latvia



Republic of Latvia controls Riga - the biggest prize as it gives huge income and is strategic to launch attack in all directions. But Latvia have long front with LSSR, and most likely will have to defend first turns and maybe make tactical withdrawals from some provinces for Bermontians and LSSR will start fight each other. Latvia can not forget it controls also Ventspils and Liepāja fort on the Western coast.

Bermontians(German & Russian volonteers)



Bermontians have to fight for Rīga and capture Ventspils and Liepāja fort, with that in hand Bermontians will enjoy income and industrial superiority, enough to launch huge offensive in the eastern parts of the map.

Latvian Socialist Soviet Republic



LSSR have good positions with its factories and airfield being deep in the region, but first turns most likely it will have to fight tactical war with Republic of Latvia in the North East part, trying to cross multiple rivers. Also by attacking towards Riga, it will face Bermontians who will not be happy about new contender for rich provinces.

Continue, it's hard to do something else than the traditional world map image. So i congrate you for that.
I like your unit. May be you can try to retouch a little the image of your map with photoshop to do it more esthetic (more grey for example).
