It's almost neck and neck cause both traits are nearly equally effective and hardly suppose any difference in such tiny amounts

HP is better because it's guaranteed unlike one more def. Say you go from 6 def to 7 def, it isn't guaranteed you'll roll 7 def at all.

As a general rule this ^^. But if a unit possesses low att/defence and much higher hp then itll benefit more from additional att/def points. In the case of standard infantry hp is slightly better than a def point. But an additional att point would be better than an additional hp point.

HP has the advantage that it's good in both attack and defense, so HP.
