---- Everyone is living a myth and it's important to know what yours is. It could be a tragedy- and maybe you don't want it to be.

Wrong question, because Mongols are ethnic group. Correct question would be 'Was Mongol Empire a civilization?' Civilization need knowledge, humanism and conscience, which i think Mongol Empire lacked and therefore the answer is no.

Most people I believed would know I was referring to the Mongol Empire (hence the inclusion of "Only the Yuan dynasty":). Personally, I go with that answer considering they basically left their nomadic lifestyles, built monumental architecture (I think they even built Beijing). They had scientist, adopted the CHinese language, developed technology, all of which I say is a civilization. The other khanates I would say lacked at least one of these and therefor were not a civilization.
