So after reaching 1700 elos I decide to 'retire' from the duels. The thing is, that I still enjoy playing them so I get some duels going from time to time when njab is being boring and there's no cw or WW1 going around. I've been becoming quite interesting in Europe vs Asia games. Since I didn't got opponent without something at stake I decide to make them duel games (who cares I already got the record). All win until the noob serbian njab became a clovis slayer and beat me to it, breaking my peak of 1710 ELO, my 34 win steak, my computer screen and my wallet. ![]() So I got to duel Laochra on his map, Eurasia. It's a version of the Eu vs Asia in which Asian economy is boosted to face European's. ![]() At the start I went Asia and did a massive militia spam of hell. Was working quite nice but lao lost a turn and decided to leave. I also broke my ELO peak that the ugly serbian guy stopped. In our second game I felt confident so I went and took India with 120 marines and gen. He didn't defend however nor got surprised. Next turn a massive force of 338 PD infantries, 28 Tanks 24 militias and gen fight against 157 militias, 117 marines and gen for Delhi! (Numbers aren't that important). Lao won it by 25 militias and gen. i thought mos would work too, my expansion was pretty good. iraq by t8. But the problem was gw expands so fast and is so cheap, he had full china by 9 and was in afganistan. he had full asia 7 or 8 turns before i had full europe. We stalemated in the middle east until his unit snowball caught up and i just hadnt the units or the money to fend it off. And i felt i played better but just couldnt offset that unit spam advantage. Belarus would not do better. gw is the supreme 3k and 5k strat in casuals it would appear. Sm/mos should fare better in 10k+. This game i should lose, i was losing badly until clovis made that mistake with his gen. But once again i am facing down swarms of marine spam. My inf outmaneuver his militia, but his marines outmaneuver my inf. ultimately i may lose to marine jewings by sp. Also with the money situation, ive 10k income but still use all my money by each rein week. But i do manage to get all my reins used. So pd isnt that bad.

Jewings is a legitimate word in the usage of "____ jewings" which means the stealing or unrightful seizure of property(or game objects). However, "Jewing" is much more common. For example "Player is money jewing!" etc etc. And don't call this semitism, we all know Jews are greedy assholes that'll do anything for a nickle.

It's over now. I'm unsure about the First Game. I went GW because I knew that long turn games flavors strategies that manages high amount of units (more moves). My rapid expansion (see below) failed because I didn't took into account that North Korea cost is around 700 more than in normal Eurasia. The lack of money made it so I had to pick between India Turn 7 or Japan Turn 4. I felt self-conscious and decided to get Japan earlier, even though my T1 expansion had other meaning. I don't think I played the game bad either, considering that (following my rapid expansion) I landed in UAE first than you, even took Kuwait first. In lategame I managed to discover a good amount of marines trying to cross from the far north part of the map. You said that GW was crazy, but I think that MoS isn't capable of using it's full reinforcements therefore at disadvantage against other strategies that are able to do this. I knew that you couldn't afford a full marine spam (because I couldn't either) and would struggle doing the same with Infantries. Our troops count flew over 1000 and it looked impossible for me to see that you could actually counter my huge waves of troops. In the second game my rapid expansion worked just great. Turn 5 I had Bulgaria > Ankara > Iraq > Somewhere near Iran + some troops from Azerbaijan = Afghanistan and Tajikistan by Turn 9 (right when you landed in Delhi). I even got Pakistan, the -stan lands, Russia Siberia and Wulumiqi (Chinese Northwest city) before you. It was in overall a great success for me.
I'm still yet to discover what was wrong with that move. My original plan was to surprise your general in Delhi and stack it to hold a couple of turns until my new stacks arrives to the zone. I didn't got your gen, but I still got Delhi. I also stacked Delhi with almost every available troop that I had in the zone. In my mind you would'be missing Indian Reinf for some turns. Even when you hit delhi back, I still killed more units than I missed there. I didn't wanted to wait one turn (for reinf) because you had a 100+ stack coming, and that would make it hard for me to push after. Since you lost so many I though that you couldn't hold my new wave of units that was just arriving... I only realized you had just so many troops in the battlefield when I failed Afghanistan next turn (See this thread's opening screenshot). My militia spam was slow in comparison to your infantries, and I started to lose the grounds that I once had. Considering that I had whole Arabian Gulf income INTACT for a good amount of turns (until you landed in Oman) I expected myself to be winning. Even at the end, I never lost Egypt-Saudi Arabia-Kuwait-Iran-Azer-South-Volga or whatever country was inside those (pretty much a frontier). The second game I would'be lost. Since I was a disciple of Cthulhu I entrusted my situation to him. He suggested me a whole set of tactics that contradicted my initial though, such as going Full-Marine spam (this tactic would cost me in overall more than 500 reinfs), defend with Marines (which I considered to not be cost-efficient) and ultimately to not stack marines (which I clearly disobey, but it would'be solved my trust Issues like when you discovered my stack of 400 marines). When he suggested me the old one "Wall and kill his walls" I also applied a scenario tactics where it's better to send enough to kill every single opponent's units (even in walls) and it's counter: send units to your walls so if your opponent tries the same strategy they fail on it. All that made me earn a great amount of SP as I was the one winning the battles, eventually shorted our SP difference from 112 to just 24. This was my first move and I also go Cthulhu's assistance. You can clearly see how our troop advantage was becoming smaller and smaller... ![]() Thanks to Cthulhu's advice, I turned the game over. It would'be interesting to try playing with something else than GW, but I'd like to have this as my last duel of the season. **As for my rapid expansion theory: It's also something from which I got Cthulhu's assistance. I've always notice that the best players on the matter (trollface, mauzer, even learster) after taking Moscow goes directly for RC cities. Personally I've always bought one ATS to fly directly to Volga or Southern Russia. The theory behind this 'rapid expansion' is to get as much lands as possible, in the direction of your opponent until you get to have a frontier (or contact) with him. To do this you need many Air Transports of course. I usually sacrifice what I like to call "Safe Expansion" or territories that my enemy can't get in a while. It worked great in our two duels, and I've also applied it to other duels having just-as-good results. You make it hard for him to expand, and you can also get your "Safe" expansion later on. I think that GW is the best strategy for this due to the militias that you earn from taking a city. Obvious there are some key countries that you need to get, even if they are way too far from your opponent... but if I was Europe I wouldn't bother to get Portugal or Iceland any soon.

If you had waited and stacked marines and militia with your gen until youd a safe amount the game wouldve been over much sooner. Marines are faster than pd infantry and europe has a maneuverability advantage on asia with the mediterranean etc. Pd should be no match for gw in 3k. Instead you made a greedy dive for india sticking your gen and main marine stack right in the middle of almost 400 units. But i wanted to test the map and will be hosting a tourney there. I don't think ill do 3k. I want ppl to be able to use mos and sm. But i feel 3 and 5k will be gw fests. Might go with 10k.
