I'm sure nasa makes trillions selling their globes to the world. That must by why they are doing it. Not only that but they managed to travel back in time and brainwashed people two thousand years before nasa was created. Not only that but they managed to pay off probably the millions of people they have guarding the antarctic circle to prevent people from falling off and they managed to slip the russians some money too since the russian space program seems to agree with nasa too. They must be sending the kremlin billions off their sales of globes to uphold this bs even though the russians can easily screw the reputation of NASA and the USA over by revealing the so called flat earth.

All matter that has mass has a fundamental resistance to change direction and velocity. Therefore, to the question of flying up or forward when jumping, the answer is that since you were born your body has existed with the velocity of the earths rotation, therefore you will move at the same speed the earth rotates should your feet leave the ground. You could try this by riding a high-speed train and jumping in the cabin. I can assure you the train will not keep moving at 200+ km/h, leaving you behind and splattering you against the wall(Amusing as that would be, it's a bit sad it doesn't work that way)

Because you are on a moving object (ie. Earth), you are moving the same speed as it. Therefor when you jump, you do not fly anywhere because you are going the same speed as the Earth. Similar to win a plane drops a bomb (ie. projectile). It will travel downward but it will remain below the plane as it is going the same speed as the plane (neglecting air resistance). This is why bomber pilots must change the direction and speed of their plane when they drop bombs- or else the blast would be right below them.

You are traveling the same velocity as the earth including all vectors (Horizontal speed and vertical speed). When you jump up you change your vertical speed; however, you are not changing your horizontal speed. Because you are not changing your horizontal speed, you stay at the same speed as the earth and therefore continue to travel the same distance horizontally as the earth. The only thing that affects horizontal velocity is air resistance, but that doesn't matter because either a) You are not in the air long enough for it to make a difference or B) The air molecules are traveling with the same horizontal component and therefore they do not affect your horizontal speed.

Friction against the wind will of course be an issue causing you to move backwards since the wind around you does not move at the same velocity nor direction as the car. However, in a closed space you would keep moving with the car. Another practical example would be; If a car is standing still and is accelerating, you will feel the drag and be pushed back because the mass of your body is not moving at the same speed as that of the car. Now, if the car plateaus in speed, no matter how high that speed is it will feel completely normal(Drag-wise, you'll feel the roadbumps VERY well ). And assuming this wasn't a closed space you would feel it all the way because the air will 'solidify' under the pressure(And approaching high enough speeds you would be set on fire by the resulting friction, now that's something I'd like to see)

im struggling to understand you but as you said if we were travelling at them speeds we would burn. Also look at the stars they are always in the same position even though the rotation of the earth is not suppose to have that happen.

1) We do not burn because the air is moving at the same speed as we are, therefore there is no friction to generate heat. 2) The stars are so far away that the earth's rotation around the sun does not actually inhibit their visibility alot. However, on a one-year photo compilation from the poles you can clearly see the stars change position, although not much.
