What's great is that we don't even need admins for this. Mods can remove points awarded for a CW between a top league clan and a bottom league clan and mods can assign trophies for bottom and top leagues despite what the overall board says. Would be more work on them, but if they're up for it it could be a success.

They can't do that.

There have been similar suggestions with leagues systems already.

They are all great, but unfortunally we dont have enought active coalitions to run this, therefore implementing a huge feature like this is not valueable enough for the admins. Sorry!

Wat. By 'league' I just meant tier, or group. I'm not suggesting that we have a schedule of CWs like they do in sports. I'm saying that we have group A and group B of clans. Group A and B can CW anytime they want but only group B's score will be affected. Group B will consist of all clans that are considered newbie or inexperienced. If SM were to CW bactria right now, we would be labeled as farmers which is why we don't CW bactria (unless our leaders have something different in mind). Many other high tier clans have the same mindset. This denies Bactria of possible CWs and chances to gain more experience. Under my system SM, Illyria, MK can CW clans such as Bactria and not gain points. This allows us the ability to CW more clans and still be able to win points competitivly.

This will actually help boost the CW scene. We have another lobby for inexperienced players. Shouldn't we have another CW system for inexperienced clans?

So, after reading through the drama and shitposting about State of mind, Illyria, and farming cp (which may just be my favorite flame war of the year) it seems something needs to be done.

Right now, if a clan CWs a lot of newer clans with members with a lot less experience a lot, they will be labeled as a farming clan. Whether or not this is a justified label or not is not the issue. The issue is that these less experienced clans SHOULD be able to CW a lot.

Lets have two 'leagues' if you will. Like how in American high school sports we have 'varsity' and 'junior varsity' we should have a similar system here. Illyria, MK, Syndi, evoL, SM and all clans that have been around for a while with experienced players would be in the top league. The bottom league will consist of clans such as Optansi (however it's spelled) Illyrification, bactria, exc.

What's great is that we don't even need admins for this. Mods can remove points awarded for a CW between a top league clan and a bottom league clan and mods can assign trophies for bottom and top leagues despite what the overall board says. Would be more work on them, but if they're up for it it could be a success.

How it is decided if you are top league or bottom league clan:

I suppose we can go by date of coalition creation to start off with and then top three in bottom league get bumped up to top league and bottom three in top league get pushed down to bottom league at end of season.

We can work out a different system.

Now, here are some additions to the idea if we have admins who could do something (lol)

Allow bottom league clans to CW top league clans but have the score ONLY AFFECT THE BOTTOM LEAGUE CLAN. To ensure no farming from top league clans. A small bonus of CP may be awarded for beating a top league clan.

Allow each clan to have a training coalition in addition to their main one for an additional (x amount of SP). This allows all leaders of main clan to have access to the training clan chat and forum BUT they can not participate in any CWs for the training clan, Training clans are not allowed to be bumped up to top league.

The way you explain it, it sounds like a rare unit drop that has to be protected so it can evolve into something useful. If this is the case, then I would say: to much work for nothing really adding to the game. If it is about producing a certain unit and over time it gets stronger (more experience, technological development, etc.), then it ads to the game. If these units evolve in general, then its fine for me; if only units evolve that have been produced and need to mature in the game, then it is an advantage for players that engage less in war (ally-fuggs and potential back-stabbers).

How about units that get stronger after engaging in a battle and surviving?

The only thing "smartphones" can be used for is accessing this website, mainly PMs and Forums, which is what i do during school, for now that is all the game can operate on, and it doesnt seem to be something that could transfer onto a phone screen, making it touch and stuff is too much work for amok

The retardism in this post....

You don't 'make it touch' what, do you think every website has to have a line of code to specifically make the touch function work..? It doesn't matter if you use a mouse or a touch screen, a selection is still a selection....

you clearly are an idiot yourself, mouse options are not always the same as touch functions, despite what you think

Ok genius, pop quiz:

This is the source code for this specific thread here on this website (if you don't believe me just open up this page with chrome and press ctrl+u). Please tell me where Amok and Ivan have specifically coded a touch function.

So, in other words, don't talk about shit you know nothing about.

There is a game feature called 'extra cities' that can be enabled prior to the start of the game. When you have this feature enabled, you will be able to acquire the countries you listed as well as a few others. This option also gives countries more cities and more reinforcements, but it also raises the cost to acquire the country. You need to be premium to enable the extra cities option, so it is an incentive to purchase premium. It might seem silly, but popular maps like 3v3s and CWs will require hosts to make a team game with extra cities in EU+, so they have to be premium in order to host a proper 3v3 and/or CW. Kind of like how you need to be premium to start a WWII.

I am also over the age of 14, so most stuff is common sense. I don't expect you to understand

And you expect common sense to translate into knowing code?

While we're on the subject of common sense, haven't you realized that with three functional rooms, most of the framework for a new room is already done? CWs report wins and loses to the website and can only be played by existing clans stored on the server. The only real coding that would need to be done is translating clans into individual players and a way for players to get added/removed from the server as a player in a specific tourny.

yes, but how do we get upgrades, points also? it seems like this is a lot of work that will only anger more than half the community. Remember people here dont like change or quick movements to make the community better

The original system has always been no SP for leaving, half of SP for surrendering, full SP for winning alone and less SP if you have allies. With the exception of team games, my system is similar. Winners get rewarded, allyfags get barley anything, surrenders get minimal points, and leavers now have a consequence. Upgrades can be brought with points. Obviously people will have to work harder, isn't that the point? That everybody earns their rank?

It's nice to dream (Even though this is not a good idea) You think devs will completely change the entire SP system? It is now flawed. The only thing flawed is the SP farm "legal" scenarios.

If everybody asked themselves "Would the devs really do this?" before posting a thread in this section, nobody would post here at all.

So i play a 5v5 and i get 8 points, i play a game and i ally 1 person when we play with 6 players and i get 2 points, kinda doesnt work

Points can always be adjusted. The point system I gave is just a rough draft. Would probably be better to have percentages of total players base point handouts instead of solid points. But I don't feel like working out the math. :p
Se încarcă...
Se încarcă...
Instead of getting SP from a game, you get points for winning.
Finishing game with no allies if total players>6=10 points
Finishing game with no allies if total players 4-5=7 points
Finishing game with no allies if total players are 3 (WITH NO ALLIES ENABLED)=5
Total allies less than 10% of total players=5 points
Total allies 11%-20% of total players=3 points
Total allies 21%-50% of total players=2 points
Total allies>50%=0 points.

Team games will reward points as follows:
1v1=3 points.
2v2=5 points to each player of winning team.
3v3/4v4=6 points to each player of wining team.
5v5-10v10=8 points.

Games with no allies and lock settings enabled=+20% points.

Surrendering/losing=1 point.
Leaving=-13 points.
CWs=20% added points to winning team. (To replace the double SP)

We can inflate the amount of points received to make it feel more rewarding, but it seemed unnecessary to add a bunch of zeros at this point.

Advantages: No more allyfagging. This will encourage more combat and better use of diplomacy. There will be no significant gain to playing RP from a player stand point. If you truly like playing RP, then by all means, play it. But those who use it to rank up quickly will have more reasons to explore other maps. Team games (aka competitive map and CWs) will be more rewarding (more allies with no major point reduction) and will be played more often as a result. Maps like WW2, WW1, will also benefit since they are classified as team games as well.

Disadvantages: Making players who farm go cold turkey might cause a loss of players. They might become frustrated and the chat will become unpleasant. RPs can be made into team games (though it will teach them about teamwork and working together making the transition into WW2/3v3s much easier)

Do not bring up the disadvantage of farming, I am currently thinking of how to make farming impossible. Am open to ideas.

Thoughts?

^ This. In WW2 you can lose a stack of 50 units and be able to blow it off. You lose a stack of 50 in 3v3 it's gg. Basically what I'm saying is there is more micromangement in 3v3. Every unit is precious and valuable.

2. It's possible they are simply having a bit of fun, or/and for indenity. When you see a [s] and the map's created by a
Consul you now you will be banned once you leave for no reason/a bad reason.

3. Why they are not working the background? It's a warning not to troll or you will be banned on sight and you would have wasted your time.

]But they are NOT some attention seekers, as I have already said. They are clearly helping AW. They don't want no more trolls. You guys have to prove that they are really attention seekers.

If they aren't attention seekers, why the need for a clan and why a need for these little 'consul' names? If they spot a troll, they take a SS and send it to the mapmaker. The mapmaker then adds that person to the banlist and keeps the SS saved. Then every week or so the mapmakers can exchange their banlists or do as they are doing now where every map maker has access to edit a global banlist. There is no need for this 'senate'. If they weren't attention seekers, they would work quietly in the background taking SS and pming them to mapmakers. But instead they have added these little nobodys (i.e Marcus) who shout and scream and preach the senate 'WE HELP ATWAR WOO!' and let everybody know that they're helping banning trolls. If the senate was a small group of the decent atwar mapmakers who aren't such attention whores, nobody would have a problem with the senate.

Scenarios and 3v3 are not different at all. Regardless of what map it is, it's still atwar. In order to succeed you need:

1.) strong allies
2.) Full knowledge of your strat and how to play it properly
3.) Ability to predict opponent's movements.
4.) Ability to recognize opponent's strat and have the ability to exploit the weakness of that strat.
5.) Full knowledge of the map you're playing on. Knowing income, what countries give high reinforcements, exc
6.) Ability to move troops fast and efficiently.
7.) Knowledge of your opponent. Is he somebody who takes risks and rushes or is he passive and slowrolls?

These are just the ones off the top of my head. I'm sure a couple more will come to me later on, but these are the majority of the important ones. Notice how all of these can be used as pillars for success in any map, on any scenario and how you will most likely fail if you can't do any of the above points. Sure, expansions are different. It will take some time to understand the general movement of troops (learning to efficiently utilize rivers, railroads, exc) and adapt to the new units. Every map and scenario demands a certain learning curve. After you gain knowledge of the map and it's troops (which shouldn't take more than a few games) there's little difference in you play and much you win and lose.
